closets.

If my clothes could talk, I can only imagine the stories they would tell. The parties, weddings, first days of school, dancing and dates all were notable, and I have so many memories attached to clothes.

I stumbled across this fantastic Youtube channel, Stuckonstyle (associated with Bluefly.com), and am absolutely loving their "Closet Confessions" videos. If I went through and did this with my girlfriends, I can only imagine what tidbits of information would come out.

Here's a few of my favourites...

Enjoy!

PS I survived day one of my internship. Yippee!

eve.

'Twas the night before the first day of my internship,
all the house was asleep.
Not a creature was stirring,
not even my miniature poodle.

I'm packed, ready, prepared and hopefully ready to go,
however, I have a blasted broken toe.

What to wear? What to wear?

Sleep will not pass over my eyelids.

C'est la vie. The injury was worth it - teaching and learning from fellow dancers and professionals in whatever field you're in is invaluable.

When they're doing your choreography and taking it to another level, that's magic.

I can now see why Sonya Tayeh and Mia Michaels get so excited. I hope to one day be the Canadian version.

If you don't dream big, who else will for you?

bonus.

The only risk in life is not taking one.

Someone very wise said this to me many years ago. I try to live my life by it, as you never know what opportunities lie around the next bend. Also, if things don't meet your expectations, lower them. Then everything is a bonus.

vulnerable.

Currently, this blogette and I have been having some issues. I apologize for the lack or new posts - for whatever reason, I've been having technical difficulties viewing things, changing around links, etc, etc, etc.

I've been teaching dance for the past couple of days at my old high school, and seeing the passion some of these young women have for dance (even if it isn't in their preferred style) has completely inspired me to look at life different. High school is such a hard time of your life where you're in the complete middle of figuring yourself out and now some chick is telling you to dance in a totally new way.

You could sit down, pout and back out. That's what some did.

But most didn't.

If they can put themselves out there in this vulnerable time in their lives, why can't anyone else?

Thought of the day.

PS I am dying to see this movie. How fantastic does it look? I'm a huge Pina Bausch fan, this may be nirvana.

twotwo.

Over the past few months, I have met a few of my friend's mothers and was amazed at how similar, yet vastly different each was from their parental unit. Coming home and living with my own maman has made me realize how your blood is exactly the same, and how much we can drive each other crazy when we're arguing (we're saying the same thing, but can't realize it).

However, is this all a reflection of who we will be in the future, or because we recognize these similarities, will we act differently?

For example, when I'm cooking, I can balance nine things and make sure everything is in a row. When someone says I'm being too ethereal about life or eccentric, it's genetics.

We're even the same down to our Tim Horton's order. That's scary.

However, outside of my relationship, seeing my friends and their interactions with their mothers very interesting. Yes, you'll have two women sitting in front of you with the same eyes, but with also very different things coming out of their mouths. Other times, you would swear your friend is the "mini" version of your mother.

We don't have to love our mothers based on their personalities only, but as daughters, they are our biggest cheerleaders (although they don't always show it) and taught us the basic rules in the game of life.

baffled.

Welcome sweet summer and all the essentials - a fabulous bathing suit, flirty dress, good outside hangout, drinks on the patio, florals, brights, flowers, sunnies and a good looking garçon.

Enjoy the last day of your May long weekend! Whether you're working, playing or hanging by the lake, make sure to take a moment to look back and realize how beautiful this summer may be. How fascinating is it that the sun changes to bring us such heat each year?

I'm baffled by nature always.

playlist12.

This has been a lovely week - I'm back to my old dancing and yoga self again, and am feeling so centred and grounded in my work, family and friends. Although things are always different when you come home year after year, you adapt, and sometimes these differences are actually more enlightening and better in new ways.

Anyways, enough with that. I'm very excited for this month's playlist, and after a suggestion from a friend, am sharing it in a new way! You should be able to play my picks in the widget below.

Enjoy, and suggestions, comments and likes/dislikes are always welcome!

balloons.

How lovely is this little video? What a cool way to look at life and chase after a dream.

funnyface.

Since I have this week off, I've decided to start watching a new movie every time I can. How many times do we say to ourselves in theatres and at the movie store, "I've wanted to see that one!" and never quite got to it? I'm throwing that to the wind and taking the time every evening to enjoy something new.

After too many years passed, I finally downloaded Funny Face for a weeknight movie treat. I saw it eons ago, and forgotten about so much of the fashion, Richard Avedon's artistic and photography influences, and how divine Audrey Hepburn and Fred Astaire are together. Especially when they're dancing.

The movie is delicate, fun and the fashions are so classic and continue influence the way we walk, talk and dress today. I am lusting for nothing more than to hop on a plane to Paris, tour the Champs-Élysées and wear floral dresses like Audrey. As an old movie buff, this film definitely fit the category of "what's old is new again".

I'm a loyal Gleek, and love getting my weekly dose of dance and singing on television - but there's something magical about the 1950s and 60s where the dancing in the films was so organic. Mind you, Fred Astaire is the epitome of the perfect gentleman, and moves like a dream. It was so refreshing to watch something so sweet and romantic, and I've been inspired out of my choreography block after the infamous dance scene in the cafe.

Oh Paris, I hope we can meet someday soon. For now, I'll just have to pretend that I'm the Canadian Audrey, with my dog, her namesake, by my side.
