timing.

Man, it's true. Life moves pretty fast. If you don't look around once in a while, you could miss it.

I've been very lucky to have the time to catch up with friends who are living all over the world, take in some classic winter activities and spend quality time with my family.

As I pack my bags and get ready to head back to Vancouver tomorrow, I can't help but get that ping in my stomach.

I feel (and know) it's time to go, but am sad to leave. I feel like I only just got here.

My family gave up doing a big Christmas a few years ago when my brothers and I were living across the Canada and Europe. The fact that we were all in the same town was a big deal, and we decided to keep our "no presents" traiditon.

Here comes the cheesey life lesson bit, but really, the greatest gift we've had is time.

It's a luxury - only a week off here, a couple days free there...for someone to give me the gift of their time is enormous. Take and run with it my friends.

It's been a treat Kelowna...but back to Vancouver I go! There's lots on the go these first few months of 2014 - check out more below:

So, 2013 was a big learning year.

A lot things didn't work out...but then again, sometimes not getting what you want is sometimes a remarkable stroke of luck.

Thank you 2013 for showing me what my limits were, then breaking them.

lemony.

"It is a mircale if you can find true friends, and it is a miracle if you have enough food to eat.

And it's a miracle if you get to spend your days and evenings doing whatever it is you like to do.

And the holiday season - like all the other seasons - is a good time not only to tell stories of miracles, but to think about the miracles in your own life,

and to be grateful for them."

- Lemony Snicket, The Lump of Coal

2013.

"I'm not ashamed of anything I've done.

Shame is a useless emotion."

- Candace Bushnell

2013 certainly has been one for the books.

I got work. Left work. Found new work.
I danced. Choreographed. Moved into a leadership role. Became a student.
I learned that I'm okay putting myself out there.
I twerked in front of a theatre of people. (Hey! A dance student started it.)
I moved. I found a new home.
I became my own boss.
Life changes fast man. Grab it.

Thanks 2013 for all the struggles, lessons and opportunities you brought my way. I have no shame, it all happened for a reason. I wouldn't change a thing.

2014, bring it on.

moss.

I've been dancing and training for nearly 20 years.

It still amazes me how much time, sweat, effort, tears and laughs go into making live performances possible. Then it's over in 45 minutes. Done. You're off the stage, the next act is coming on.

So why do we do this?

Because you get to become someone else for that 3 minutes in the spotlight. Your brain shuts out the world, and the only thing that exists is the music, the audience and the lights.

Oh stage, it feels good to be back. Hard to believe five years ago I never thought I would dance again.
