pr.

Well what a week it's been!

I just got back this afternoon from Prince Rupert, B.C., where I was working with a dance studio as a guest teacher.

It's a quick turnaround - I'm back in Vancouver for rehearsals and work for the next few days, and then am off to Victoria for another trip this upcoming weekend.

I have to say, they don't call it #beautifulBC for nothing. This province is truly stunning, and the people I've had the opportunity to meet along the way are just as lovely.

Here are a few pictures from Prince Rupert...hopefully can come back soon!

If you didn't know...I'm also the social media/communications coordinator with GetintheLoop.ca - we are profiling different team members every few Fridays, and I'm this week!

Here's a bit more about my background and how I'm "in the Loop". You can also check this post (and many others) out on the GITL blog:

Ever wonder who's behind the Get in the Loop Twitter account? Meet our social media coordinator, Portia Favro.

I spent most of my childhood dreaming I would grow up to be a ballerina.
Having danced my entire life, I seriously considered a career in the performing arts. But in May 2008, that plan completely changed.

am/pm.

I can't believe it's already Thursday! Where did this week go.

Gotta say, the Olympics is always the best time - especially the second week. It's hard to believe it's all over this weekend. Huge shout out to the Canadian women's hockey team on their gold medal win this afternoon - unreal.

Off to the studio to teach soon - Prince Rupert, you've been lovely to me. This little working trip has shown that I really can work from anywhere - it's challenging at times, but also showcases the perks of being an entrepeneur.

I've been loving seeing all the photos from The Lovers Cabaret presents Lovers of Marley trickle in over the last few days. Here are a few of my favourites from showtime - missing these dancers something fierce.

Sorry for the lack of delays on my end. I'm currently in beautiful Prince Rupert, B.C. teaching at a dance studio for a week. I'll be back to Vancouver next week!

Until then...The Lovers Cabaret is already brewing up their next project. Stay tuned for more details to come!

understanding.

Oh my! How has it been nearly 10 days since I last posted on here?

I guess that happens when there just aren't enough hours in the day. But life has been good, real good.

Lovers of Marley was a huge success - we had nearly 800 people see the show, with a sold out show this past Saturday night. Being a trained contemporary dancer, you don't often get the opportunity to perform in a project the general public will understand...but this was it.

A huge thank you to so many for their support and taking the time to come out to see the show. I still can't believe we had a line wrapped around the block to come in on Saturday night!

I've also been experiencing recent growth in both my social media consulting and dance instruction business - I've got a couple exciting projects in the works that I'll be announcing more about this upcoming week.

Vancouver, you've been sweet to me. Thank you for taking me for who I am and supporting these wild adventures of mine...it's just beginning.

"He’s not perfect. You aren’t either, and the two of you will never be perfect.

But if he can make you laugh at least once, causes you to think twice, and if he admits to being human and making mistakes, hold onto him and give him the most you can.

He isn’t going to quote poetry, he’s not thinking about you every moment, but he will give you a part of him that he knows you could break.

Don’t hurt him, don’t change him, and don’t expect for more than he can give.

Don’t analyze. Smile when he makes you happy, yell when he makes you mad, and miss him when he’s not there.

Love hard when there is love to be had.

Because perfect guys don’t exist, but there’s always one guy that is perfect for you."

- Bob Marley
