hunt.

Sometimes I think that through our attempts to be different in the way we dress, we are all starting to look the same again. As well, what has it been that triggered millions of girls to now be dying to have a career in fashion.
Hmm.
This is only my personal opinion, but I think that fashion has become so accessible to the masses that anyone can recreate the looks that we could only see on runways and red carpets. This is a huge step in the ideas of equality for all in the way we dress, and not having the luxury overpower the commercial (and sometimes the pieces at H&M are more fun and practical to wear then Holt Renfrew, just saying...). However, because anyone can walk into their local mall and select the same pieces and fifty other girls, they immediately credit themselves with styling ideas and talk about how they want a career in fashion.

I have to challenge this. It's not fashion if the outfit is already put together on a mannequin and is all their in your size. Make it a game, or a hunt, to find the pieces that are special to you and maybe a little bit more unique then a commercial store. Do you ever wonder why so many fashionable women buy their clothes at Winner's and funny little boutiques (they always seem to look fabulous as well).

New Years Resolution #2 - Have more fun with fashion. Be original and see what an inspiration can grow into.
