thanksgiving.

Last year, one of my colleagues said to treat each day like it's Thanksgiving.

That really stuck with me - I'm so healthy, happy and living my dream work-friends-passions-interest-wise.

Last night, I took a step outside of my comfort zone and performed with another dance group in a very different venue, crowd and style then what I'm accustomed to.

In turn, I ended up connecting with some absolutely fabulous women and gents (inside and out!) and was invited to Portland, Oregon to perform in the future.

Needless to say, I'm thankful.

Thankful for going with my gut.

Thankful for the support of my friends and colleagues.

Thankful to be one hundred per cent myself.

As we head into the next week and Thanksgiving weekend in Canada (I'm heading back to Kelowna for some family time, and couldn't be more excited), I'm really reflecting and soaking in all that's happened this past year.

Thanks universe. You've been awesome.

thankful.

For the first time since high school, I'm going to be home in Kelowna for Thanksgiving.

I have a lot to be thankful for every single day. This past year in particular has brought about as many fantastic as well as horrible things in my life and throughout my friend circle.

There have been births, deaths, successes, failures, love, breakups job losses, career advancements, moves and so much more.

There are somethings I wish I could have done much differently in the past year, especially first world problem-wise. However, every decision and event that's happened has actually helped me learn a new skill and (hopefully) grow as a person.

This year, I'm especially thankful for the bumpy road. I'm still on it, and though it can get rough at times, I wouldn't have it any other way.

Enjoy your long weekend Canadian friends - Happy Thanksgiving!

solstice.

"I never change, I simply become more myself"
- Joyce Carol Oates, Solstice

Whew, it's been a busy but good first few days back in Kelowna. So far I've taught 12 dance classes of various styles across the city and have been able to see quite a few of those that I've missed dearly.

The best part of this...I had the chance to teach a dance class for students who had physical and mental disabilities. This group of dancers was so enthusiastic and put a smile on my face - they took me and my choreography with an open mind and ran with it (literally).

I'm so thankful for the opporortunites that have presented themselves this past month. With Christmas coming up and recent news we've been hearing, counting our blessings seems more important than ever.
