The last month has certainly been an interesting one. I know there was a ton of this "New Year, New You" mantra-ing happening, but I really wasn't feeling it. In fact, I felt exactly the same moving into the new year as I felt leaving 2014.

I sat down with one of my good friends and Producer for several shows I've been a part of the other night, and we hashed it out. January 2015 was hard. T

here were a lot of things that went south during a time of refreshment and renewal. On the flip side, I experienced and found success in several places I didn't think would be profitable (like booking my first TV show!)

However, it's ending. Tomorrow is a fresh page of a new month. For me, I feel like it's my time to step into a new chapter.

I'm thrilled to be expanding my personal brand of dance work and choreography, and am taking on new projects, teaching more classes and brainstorming ways to travel, share and showcase more of what I love to do.

Right now I'm in the thick of building www.portiafavro.com with a full class schedule, background and demo work in all my areas of expertise and creativity. It's a long time coming, but I'm en route!

Man, it's true. Life moves pretty fast. If you don't look around once in a while, you could miss it.

I've been very lucky to have the time to catch up with friends who are living all over the world, take in some classic winter activities and spend quality time with my family.

As I pack my bags and get ready to head back to Vancouver tomorrow, I can't help but get that ping in my stomach.

I feel (and know) it's time to go, but am sad to leave. I feel like I only just got here. 

My family gave up doing a big Christmas a few years ago when my brothers and I were living across the Canada and Europe. The fact that we were all in the same town was a big deal, and we decided to keep our "no presents" traiditon.

Here comes the cheesey life lesson bit, but really, the greatest gift we've had is time. 

It's a luxury - only a week off here, a couple days free there...for someone to give me the gift of their time is enormous. Take and run with it my friends.

It's been a treat Kelowna...but back to Vancouver I go! There's lots on the go these first few months of 2014 - check out more below:

Hope you are all having a lovely Saturday. It's so temperate outside in Toronto that it's divine to walk around.

Even better? My dad is here for a quick visit, so that makes all the difference as well.

Oh my goodness, the month that I have been waiting for, for so long is just about here!

The February blues are stinky. So, along with my idea of celebrating each day like it's my birthday, I've renamed it the February Pinks.

I start my internship with Canada AM this month (which is an experience I'm looking very forward to), it's Valentine's Day soon (who doesn't love a whole day about love...whether you're single or betrothed) and it's slowly getting a little bit more light out later each day.

January is the slump month for me - so many things to catch up on after the Christmas season, the snow and cold, fighting the new, huge crowds at the gym...so February is a little bit more relaxed.

I've been lucky to have a great opportunity to get so many pieces written and broadcast on The Ryersonian, and now as a content reporter for the site/publication, hope to dedicate myself to the newsroom as much as I can.

Of course, there's got to be a balance. I'll be dancing in a show coming up soon and in a flash mob on Valentine's Day. Want more details? Send me an email or tweet me anytime.

I heard this great quote a few months ago, "Lack of passion is fatal" - I've been hoping to live and breathe this everyday.
