tmw.

It's always over so fast.

Two years of processing and dreaming about a project // show. Hours upon hours in the studio...all for 1.5 hours over three nights on stage.

I'm thrilled to see my James Bond show come to life and my characters blossom on the stage. It's been a trip and a huge learning experience working as a producer this time.

As we head into the final hours before our final curtain call and I'm soaking up every moment.

I have no idea what tomorrow is going to feel like. The last time I was this deeply integrated into a project, I cried all day and was a mess. Other shows, I was so ready to be done.

However, this one doesn't feel finished quite yet. I think there might just be an opportunity to go a little further. We'll see.

Thank you, from the bottom of my heart for all the love, support, advice and assistance with bringing "From Bond with Love" alive.

bond.

La vie est belle.
There are things we can't always explain. Nor should we.

There are moments that take your breath away when you least expect it.

There are times when everything starts to come together. Sometimes, things fall apart.

I'm one week away from debuting my first full show as a producer + I'm over the moon. I'm so proud of my dancers, the process, this story and everything.

I know I'm going to feel a huge void after 7 months of work. It's inevitable. It's going to hurt. Maybe I'll be ready for it to be finished. Maybe not.

Either way, it's a major step as an artist and performer.

See you on the other side my friends.

top5.

This has been one of those perfect rainy Saturday's - quiet.

This past week was full of work, classes, meetings and not one, but two fantastic dance gigs. I'm very pleased to annouce I'm a specialty dance performing on the show, MOTIVE, which airs on CTV.

I'm slowly but surely getting better this whole "resting" thing and taking days off when I really get them. Audrey Hepburn once said, "I'd be quite happy if I spent from Saturday night until Monday morning alone in my apartment. That's how I refuel."

It also gives me the precious time to plan, write, and plan for the coming week.

PLUS, I get to write a new Top 5 for y'all!

The Day Designer.
Sometimes, you just gotta kick your own butt into shape.
Today I took a deep breath and dove in to find out more about what I really want to do. I definitely have some fresh ideas, goals and am ready to process and put them into place. This little book just opened up the possibilities. Let's do it.

Etta James.
There's just something about dancing to this siren of song. Plus, her birthday was on January 20.
Stay tuned for my level 1 dancers performing to her beautiful music in "Back to Basics" March 26/27 at Celebrities Nightclub.

Hair.
You guys, I've decided to finally once and for all grow my hair out into a long bob. It's time.

Tuesday Grooveday.
Step one, just go for it. I finally voiced and laid down the ropes to start my own dance class under Portia Favro Productions. Every Tuesday evening, my friend and I offer a heels cabaret and artistic direction class at one of our local studios for a reasonable price point.

Although it seems simple, I found this very challenging. Every week, who knows if anyone will come? But it's worth the risk. Which leads me to...

Quote.
Boom.

Have a wonderful rest of your weekend.

marley.

Through a series of events, this past Thursday evening I ended up touring The Rickshaw Theatre in Vancouver's Chinatown area.

As my friend, the producer of February's show and I walked around the space, I truly felt that energy in a room.

You could just tell that this venue has seen a lot of good music, dancing, sweat, drinking and rock n roll.

As a performer, we spend so much time focusing on being ready for the stage. I have preached about expressed my love for "The Process" many times - however, I've seen this really only in the studio.

I'm getting older, my body is changing and so is my perspective. "The Process" doesn't just start when you go into rehearsals.

It's here, touring the venue and feeling the energy of the space.

I have been approached to choreograph and work on a new project called "The Lovers of Marley". This cabaret-style show will feature the music of the iconic Reggae artist, Bob Marley, featuring a cast of diverse dancers, actors, singers and other artists.

If you live in the Vancouver area, I highly urge you to come out to the audition tomorrow, Sunday, October 6 and show what you've got! Check out the details on Facebook here.

Have a lovely weekend and see you dancing tomorrow!

B&W.

I live for the applause. The way you cheer and scream for me.
Give me the thing that I or turn the lights down.
Raise your hands and make them touch.

don.

Tonight was one of the first that I noticed how early the sun was starting to set.

I know these carefree days will be gone too all too soon...that means I'm becoming the yes woman.

Dinner on the beach? Yes.

Going for an early morning hike? Absolutely.

Let's go out on the boat. Done.

There is no time like the present. Off we go!

Enjoy and soak in August in all its glory.

solo.

My knees are weak, arms are heavy. There's no vomit on my sweater. I haven't had Mom's spaghetti in months (she lives three thousand miles away).

I'm nervous, but on the surface I look calm and ready.

At least, that's what everyone told me.

marnie.

Happy Monday!

This past weekend was full of a few of my favourite things - good friends, warm nights and the Okanagan's Largest Outdoor Yoga Class. July in B.C. is one of the best times of the year, and I'm soaking up every moment as much as I can.

I've been obsessed with Songza over the last few months, but especially the playlist inspired by Girls character, Marnie. Right now, it's the perfect summer playlist.

Take a listen...enjoy!
