I had lunch this afternoon with one of my Artistic Directors I've worked with in both Toronto and Vancouver. 

Over the last six months, we've found that we've connected during very busy times of the year, and this was our first chance to meet and catch up with no holiday, show or rehearsal pressures. 

The last time she saw me, I was in such a different place - broke, tired and clueless. It felt incredible to be in front of her and really say it, out loud, 

"I'm happy. Really happy here." 

She smiled at me and her eyes lit up. Because we both know, it's true.

The first few notes are some of the most iconic sounds we will ever know as humans. On this cold, rainy evening, this piece of music captures everything about the weather, the city, the news all in mere moments.

Tied in the opening sequence of Woody Allen's infamous film, Manhattan, (one of my favourite movies) the rain doesn't look so bad after all.

There's something so authentic about chalkboards - they remind me of being a kid in kindergarden. What a lovely end of a lovely day - watching Thelma and Louise, and loving summer like no other.
