dimension.

"We do not grow absolutely, chronologically.

We grow sometimes in one dimension, and not in another; unevenly.

We grow partially. We are relative.

We are mature in one realm, childish in another.

The past, present, and future mingle and pull us backward, forward, or fix us in the present.

We are made up of layers, cells, constellations."

— Anaïs Nin

Got some fantastic news the other day about another opportunity this spring to showcase even more of my dance choreography. Fingers crossed I can make it work - stay tuned for updates.

It's chilly here in Toronto, and after a busy week I'm planning to take a step back this weekend.

Happy Friday and enjoy!

sunlight.

I hope you and your loved ones had an incredible Christmas and holiday season!

I'm back from Kelowna feeling refreshed and inspired artistically and professionally - I'm ready to tackle 2013, bring it on.

But before we jump into the new year, it's time to ring out and celebrate this past one. I'll be decked out in my sequin dress with a glass of champagne in hand.

Au revoir 2012, bonjour 2013!

Also, not this song is my latest obsession. I had the opportunity to choreograph a solo for one of my dancers, and this music just clicked with her and I. More details to come about the story and concept...

The past week has been incredible and has offered some once in a lifetime opportunities.

playlist34.

I know everyone is saying this, but I'm blown away that it's already December. This means a crazy week ahead full of writing, dancing, training, rehearsal, holiday parties and performing in a huge show on Friday!

In between there, I'm finding time to choreograph combinations and work on pieces for the 12 classes I'm teaching in four days in Kelowna over my break.

Nothing says living the dream more than that my friends.

Thus, a good playlist is vital to keep me going this week (especially with my early AM start times). I'm pulling inspiration form all corners of my life for this playlist. A little from my show, some of what I'm feeling choreography to and little tidbits I "Shazam-ed".

I'm also going through a Pearl Jam and George Michael phase as of late - not sure where that's coming from, but it's good.

Enjoy this month's psuedo holiday/contemporary playlist.

calvin.

This video is a bit wild, but I'm absolutely gaga over this song. For whatever reason, electronic music has completely taken over my playlists (maybe to keep me awake for those early AM shifts)

I've been a huge fan of Florence Welch since I first heard "Howl" by her a couple of years ago. Her voice hits you to the bones, so much soul.

I'm especially loving her David Bowie-esque ensemble/coiffure in this video.

My apologies for being a bit m.i.a. this week. I have been working mucho at the television station and dancing my feet off at rehearsal and performances. I'm one month away from being home for Christmas where I also will be teaching a plethora of classes across the Okanagan across the 10 days I am there. Stay tuned for details coming soon!

Expect to be hearing this in class for sure.
