"We will all laugh at gilded butterflies" - King Lear by William Shakespeare.

done.
Love and men may come and go, but it will never change for the two most important men in my life. Congrats Andrew and Wes - I love you and am so proud of what you've both accomplished.

flash.
Lady Gaga - "Paparazzi". Can hardly find anyone not talking about it today, also heard that it was leaked? Love the costumes, as per usual.

cheap.
Okay, I'll admit it, I'm cheap when I buy clothes. My favourite stores include Target, Costco and Superstore. If I get the chance to find clothes that may have more or a mainstream/known look, and I like it, I snatch it up. (Although I don't refuse gifts!)
Lululemon sells "Loot" - basically the overstock of clothes they didn't sell. Most of it's pretty cute too.
love?

ps - Today is the day of my old high school's prom. Crazy what different shoes I was in a year ago at this time. Literally (with the bad knee, no heels so I wore flip flops under my big dress to pron) and what the upcoming move I would make would open up for me. Hmmm.

revolutions.
I still don't care what people say, Marie Antoinette, directed by Sofia Coppola, is still one of my all time favourite movies. I'm obsessed with history, especially the time period of the French and English Revolutions, as well as the fashion used in the movie...
This might also be influenced by visits to Francis Ford Coppola's winery (Sofia's father) when I lived in California. AS a child, my family would go to the Napa Valley for the parentals to get their wine fix, and my brothers and I to visit friends with a beautiful pool at their house there. The biggest treat was when I bought Sofia Champagne, from Francis Ford Coppola's winery, which was a drink inspired for her, and came in mini gold cans with pink straws. I still have the empty can stored.
Perhaps also this French inspiration is because I also saw the movie Taken recently. It's a thriller, and really good. But it is also about a young woman and her friend being kidnapped in Paris - which is somewhat freaky as I'm dying to travel with my friends to the city. I would recommend it, and nevertheless, I still want to see the Eiffel Tower, the Louvre and Versailles. Someday. :)

pearl.
"Girl with a Pearl Earring"
Girl with a Pearl Earring I would think is one of my most favourite books of all time. Johannes Vermeer is also one of my most favourite painters. So when I was told read the book in my grade 10 history class, everything fell into place. I am on the hunt for a mounted poster or framed photo of "The Girl with a Pearl Earring", for it represents two of my beloved things, as well as the subject of history that I completely fell in love with after reading the book.
I unfortunately found out that my friend as a bad staph infection, in all places - her knee. I know that you might not know her, but please have her in your thoughts. I love her dearly, and hope that she will soon be better and out of the hospital. A little bit of my heart broke today when I saw how hard it was for her to get out of bed just to go brush her teeth. She has been dying to read Girl with a Pearl Earring, and has gone to the library to get it, but always it was checked out. That made my day to bring that book to her.
Does everything really happen for a reason? I think it did for me last year when I hurt my knee - I'm hoping that this will all work out okay.

jazzercise.
Perez Hilton had this on Twitter - this woman actually makes my life and I want to try jazzercise. I'm not even kidding.
Then it gets better...
